In Pictures: BKK1 fire guts locked house

A dramatic fire in Phnom Penh’s exclusive BKK1 district shocked residents yesterday.
The fire occurred at 3:50 pm on October 21, 2022 in street 282 in Sangkat Boeung Keng Kang I, Khan Boeung Keng Kang, Phnom Penh.
According to sources from the residents, before the incident, they saw smoke coming from inside the locked house.
Shortly afterwards, the smoke became more intense, causing a larger fire, which spread rapidly inside the house.
Seeing this, the people called firefighters, who arrived in force
Colonel Sim Piseth, Inspector of the Boeung Keng Kang District Police Inspectorate, said that the location of the incident was locked and, luckily, no-one was injured – but the house was extensively damaged
He also stated that he believed the fire was caused by faulty wiring.
