NOTIFICATION

ON

FORMS AND PROCEDURES ON CONTROLLING THE IMPORTATION OF FIREFIGHTING EQUIPMENT, MATERIALS AND FACILITIES AND INFLAMMABLE AND EXPLOSIVE SUBSTANCES INTO THE KINGDOM OF CAMBODIA

 

The General Commissariat of National Police has a great honor to inform companies and vendors who intend to import firefighting equipment, materials and facilities and inflammable and explosive substances into the Kingdom of Cambodia to distribute and install at its own targets that,  in the past the General Commissariat of National Police issued a letter No1990LS dated August 01, 2017 requesting General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia to take measures to strengthen the control of the importation of firefighting equipment, materials and facilities, and inflammable and explosive substances into the Kingdom of Cambodia for the purpose of strengthening the enforcement of the Law on Fire Prevention and Firefighting and sub-decree No 209 អន.ក្របក dated December 31, 2007 on the Prohibited and Restricted Goods.

Therefore, in order to ease the importation of such, companies and vendors shall meet the following procedures and requirements:

1. Companies' owners or vendors shall apply for importation licenses of firefighting equipment, materials and facilities at Fire Prevention and Firefighting and Rescue Police Department with the following enclosed:

    -A certificate of the registration in the trade list issued by the Ministry of Commerce

    -A certificate of the registration of taxation issued by General Department of Taxation

    -Annual patent issued by General Department of Taxation

    -A copy of Khmer identity card

    -A letter of authorization by the company

-The proposed list of fire prevention, firefighting and rescue equipment, materials and facilities for importation

-The proposed samples to be imported (so that the Fire Prevention and Firefighting and Rescue Police Department shall test in advance.)

2. Upon receiving above application for a license, the General Commissariat of National Police shall inspect and certify the legitimacy and then issue licenses to import those equipment, materials and facilities proposed by the company and vendor within 15 working days so they may show the licenses to the competent authority at border checkpoints.

3. Companies and vendors shall notify the Fire Prevention and Firefighting and Rescue Police Department in advance so that the spot check of those fire equipment, materials and facilities can be carried out when they arrive at border checkpoints prior to importation into the country.

The General Commissariat of National Police hopes that companies and vendors understand and effectively and responsibly execute the clauses as set forth above from the date of this notification.
