Authorities sent scrambling as fire erupts at factory

Residents and authorities were woken up with a shock after a fire erupted in a factory in the early hours of the morning.

The fire took place at 4:20 a.m. this morning at Prey Ke village, Prey Vihear commune, Kong Pisey district, Kampong Speu. This is according, to the report of the Kampong Speu Provincial Police.

At the time of the fire, residents living near the location called to report to local police that a fire had engulfed the factory, which prompted the authorities to immediately send out fire trucks.

The building that was burned measures 95 metres by 54 metres and was made of galvanized iron. The extent of the damage is not known yet.

The authorities dispatched 62 firefighters and 11 fire trucks to extinguish the fire.
