Fire destroys three stalls in Neak Luong Market

A fire caused chaos at Prey Veng’s Neak Luong Market this morning,  but thanks to quick reaction, only three stalls were destroyed in it.

Vendors who were eyewitnesses said they were preparing to sell their wares at around 5:00 this morning when they heard an explosion coming from a stall in the market and then the flames sudden rose.

The first spread quickly, and the vendors tried to put it out with water, but it was not successful. The fire truck later arrived and eventually extinguished the fire, but by then it had already destroyed a clothing stall, a grocery stall and a beauty salon.

The authorities suspected that the blaze may have been caused by an electrical fault but have not finalised their investigation yet.
