Toul Kork fire razes warehouse to the ground

A warehouse in Phnom Penh’s Toul Kork District was burned to the ground in a shocking display causing panic among residents.
The incident happened at 6:50 pm on December 19. The warehouse is located at House No. 25, located along Street 566, Group 44, Village 11, Sangkat Boeung Kak I, Khan Toul Kork.
According to the specialized police of the Office of Fire Prevention and Rescue, the owner of the warehouse is a female media manager. The residence of the owner is also on the same street as the warehouse.
According to the witnesses at the scene, before the incident, smoke was seen billowing out of the warehouse and the sound of something exploding was heard from inside the warehouse. Then suddenly a huge fire broke out. This caused neighbours to collect important items and exit their homes. Local authority contacted the Office of Fire Prevention and Rescue to extinguish the fire.
The Director of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Office of the Phnom Penh Municipal Police, Col Prohm Yorn, said that during the operation 23 fire trucks arrived at the scene, along with other fire trucks from other departments.
The cause of the fire was said to be a faulty electrical system. the warehouse was burned down, along with a sports car and office equipment. No one was injured during the blaze and the fire did not spread to other homes.
