Fire destroys five houses in Sihanoukville

Fire destroyed five houses yesterday at Preah Sihanouk province. The houses were located behind the Department of Public Works and Transport of Preah Sihanouk Province, in Group 13, Village 3, Sangkat 1.
Preah Sihanouk Provincial Police Commissioner Major General Chuon Narin said though the dire department responded swiftly, the houses were completely destroyed as they were constructed from wood and other easily flammable materials.
As for the cause of the fire, the authorities confirmed that it was caused by an electric shock and apart from property damage, there were no casualties.
Strong winds also fanned the flames, leading it to completely devour the houses.
