2 men and 1 woman seriously injured due to fire at a gas station

According to a report released by the Commander of the Anlong Veng District Military Police, Lieutenant Colonel Ngoun Thirith, there was a fire that occurred on the afternoon of June 6, 2021, at a gas station along National Road no.26 in Thnal Keng village, Anlong Veng commune, Anlong Veng district, Oddar Meanchey province.
He further stated that the owner of the gas station, Pich Ton, a 42-year-old male who lives in Thnal Keng village, Anlong Veng commune, Anlong Veng district, Oddar Meanchey province, Sam Kosal, a 26-year-old male from O Chanchean village, Anlong Veng commune, Anlong Veng district, Oddar Meanchey province, and Chhean Thanong, a 15-year-old female from Thnal Bapek village, Anlong Veng commune, Anlong Veng district, Oddar Meanchey province, were all seriously injured with burns on a majority of their body. They were all brought to the Anlong Veng Referral Hospital for treatment.
The Lieutenant also said that the cause of the fire was a short-circuited wire of the truck that was refilling the gas station’s gas tanks. The sparks from the faulty wire hit the gasoline and ignited it.
Mr. Hor Chinvorakyuth, Governor of Anlong Veng District, and Mr. Sim Vannak, Anlong Veng District Inspector went to the scene of the fire along with a police force and three fire trucks. Fortunately, they were able to extinguished the fire.
