House fire case in Kampong Chhnang province, which claimed six lives, no accident but murder

Brigadier General Ear Bunthoeun, Deputy Commissioner and Spokesman of Kampong Chhnang Provincial Police, told local media that preliminary investigations into the deadly house fire that killed six people, including a baby, in Boribo district, Kampong Chhnang province show the fire was not an accident.

On the contrary, investigations revealed that it was murder committed by a family member of the deceased – the father of the children.

Deputy Commissioner Bunthoeun said that the house fire that killed the six people, including a baby in the womb, which occurred on the night of May 9 in Khon Rang commune, Baribo district, Kampong Chhnang province, is an act of murder and that the killer has been found by the authorities.

He identified the perpetrator as the husband and father who had committed arson and killed his wife and children.
