Official notes challenges in fire prevention

A Land Management Ministry official has noted that there are still challenges that need to be addressed by the National Police’s Fire and Rescue Department, including dealing with fires in tall buildings.

Leang Monirith, secretary of state at the ministry, today said Cambodia is going through a development boom and that the department should be ready to address fire safety in tall buildings.

“Fire safety is very important in all buildings, especially tall ones because fire damage could be more impactful to life and properties,” Mr Monortih said, noting that in January, investment in the construction sector had doubled when compared to the previous year.
